Position Information
Located on Ngunnawal land in Queanbeyan, a growing regional centre. The school educates 476 students from diverse backgrounds. 22% speak English as an additional language or dialect; 14% identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. The school has 8 Support classes for a wide range of needs. Our PBL expectations are built on being ‘Respectful Responsible Learners’ and are supported through trauma-informed practice. Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Special Education and/or experience in teaching students with Autism, Behaviour Difficulties, Moderate Intellectual Disability and complex needs including mental health.
- Demonstrated successful classroom management with flexible and adaptive strategies that create a positive learning environment, promote student wellbeing, authentic relationships, and success.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development of faculty goals, creating a solutions-based culture.
- Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills to build positive relationships with parents and external agencies.
Conditions
Successful applicants may be entitled to a Recruitment Bonus of $20,000 (Conditions Apply). The Recruitment Bonus is paid on a pro rata basis for permanent part time teachers and executive staff. The maximum recruitment bonus for a position is $20,000, including any job share arrangements.
A Relocation Support Payment of $5,000 up to $8,000 is available for eligible applicants.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Applicants seeking permanent full-time or permanent part-time employment are encouraged to apply. If the recommended applicant seeks permanent part-time employment (FTE 0.1 to 0.9), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE.
