About the role The Sushi in Freo is looking for an experienced and talented Cook to join our team in Fremantle, Western Australia. This is a full-time position where you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a wide variety of authentic Japanese sushi and other culinary dishes to the highest standards. What you’ll be doing Preparing and cooking fresh sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese cuisine to exacting standards Ensuring all dishes are presented beautifully and in line with traditional Japanese culinary techniques. Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations Collaborating with the front -of-house team to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our customers. Continuously looking for ways to improve kitchen processes and menu offerings Mentoring and training junior kitchen staff as required What we’re looking for Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Cook in a high-quality Japanese or Asian fusion restaurant Formal culinary training or qualifications in Japanese cuisine Excellent knife skills and a strong understanding of traditional Japanese flavours and presentation Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high food safety and quality standards.
