**About the Role** 
- Lead and develop a team of Payroll Officers, processing end-to-end payroll processes, including Single Touch Payroll reporting, salary packaging, separation payments, leave management and superannuation on the University's payroll system. 
- Ensure the payroll system processes and practices are compliant with the University EA and any introduced government legislation. 
- Work with our technology partners to enhance the system and simplify processes and procedures when required. 
- Collaborate with People and Culture colleagues on all payroll related matters. 
- Providing exceptional customer service to staff and the community by providing high quality and timely service, responding to staff salary and entitlement requests. 
- Comply with and maintain up-to-date knowledge of organisational policies, procedures and legislative/regulatory requirements. 
- Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements. 
- Participate in projects, which enhance the payroll function.
**Your Capabilities**:
- Previous experience managing a team in a complex payroll function 
- PeopleSoft experience would be advantageous 
- An excellent communicator, with good interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted interpersonal relationships with all levels of customers. 
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
- Well organised, with a high level of attention to detail
