The Company:
This unique building industry provider is expanding and looking for an Estimator / Supervisor within the Insurance Building Sector.
Working directly with a Senior Construction Manager, this is a rare opportunity to work under and learn from highly skilled, experienced mentors, further developing the applicant's skills, capabilities, and experience.
The Role:
* Undertake site inspections and field investigations involving all types of building and structures.
* Assist in determining the cause, origin, and extent of building/structure damage, distress, failures, water intrusions, construction defects and building system failures.
* Attend sites & estimate for building re-instatement works
* Interpret scope of works provided by consultants
* Write scope of works documents when required
* Assist in the preparation of written reports, including documentation of causes of failure, conclusions, recommendations, scopes of work for repair and quotes/costings.
* Liaise and communicate with clients, building trades, other consultants, and industry professionals.
* Managing a portfolio of residential, commercial, insurance projects to meet safety, cost, time and quality objectives.
* Demonstrated experience as an Estimator within the insurance repair industry will be highly regarded, with a high level of competency and breadth of capability
* Engage and manage subcontractors ensuring projects run to schedules and the prompt delivery of completed repairs.
* Attend service calls with short notice
* Personable & excellent communication skills
Requirements:
* Preferably a qualified carpentry or equivalent trade background;
* Insurance industry experience desirable
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills;
* Excellent investigative and problem solving skills;
* A sound, thorough knowledge of building techniques and construction principals;
* A sound, thorough knowledge of the Building Code of Australia, relevant Australian Standards and other statutory regulations and requirements;
* Ability to communicate at various levels including insurers, clients, loss adjusters, builders, contractors and other consultants.
* Preferably 5-8 years minimum building industry experience;
* Current drivers licence;
* Current OH&S white card (or industry equivalent)
