Electrical Distribution Technician Job Description
This is a permanent full-time opportunity to contribute to the delivery of cutting-edge naval capability by supporting the Set to Work (STW), testing, commissioning, and maintenance of Electrical Distribution systems.
The successful candidate will be based at our Osborne Shipyard in Adelaide and work closely with the Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure testing aligns with robust engineering solutions.
The key responsibilities include:
* Perform STW, test, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical distribution systems
* Collaborate with the Lead Technician to plan and deliver commissioning activities
* Develop and review key documentation, including specifications, test procedures, maintenance instructions, and engineering reports.
* Diagnose faults and solve technical issues.
* Work with contracted suppliers and assist with pre-commissioning activities.
* Ensure all work is compliant with WHS legislation and relevant policies
* Assist the Verification & Acceptance team with inspection and acceptance activities
About the role:
* 5-10 years of T&C experience working with complex electrical distribution systems
* Experienced with 115V, 230V, 440V, and 690V electrical distribution systems
* Minimum Certificate III in Engineering – Electrical (Mandatory)
* Unrestricted Electrical Licence (Mandatory)
* Highly competent with transformers and switchboards
* Demonstrated experience writing STW procedures, risk assessments, and SOPs
* Experience with computer-based commissioning systems
* Strong planning and coordination skills to manage task priorities
