The Opportunity

Join us for an exciting opportunity at the Communication in Health Professions Education unit (COHPE) within the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing, and Health Sciences.

We're searching for an enthusiastic lecturer to enhance our clinical communication skills and academic language programs for medical students (international and domestic) undertaking clinical placements.

You will be collaborating with our COHPE team to create engaging educational experiences for students on medical placements at the Eastern Health Clinical School (EHCS) clinical sites.

This includes developing unique course materials, delivering lectures and tutorials, and crafting personalized learning plans for students in clinical communication, oral and written language development, and studying within clinical contexts.

You will work closely with clinical and administrative staff, and will travel to clinical placement sites within the clinical school (including mainly Box Hill, Maroondah, and Angliss Hospitals).

In addition, you will interact and collaborate with Faculty and COHPE staff based at Monash Clayton campus.

Our ideal candidate has a first degree and postgraduate qualification in applied linguistics or related fields, extensive teaching experience in interactional oral communication (particularly in health profession contexts), and a solid track record in team-based environments.

Experience in medical contexts is an advantage.

If you're ready to make a significant impact, we encourage you to apply and be part of our innovative journey in empowering students for success!
