Program and Operations Lead

At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners – from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training.

* Ongoing Full-Time
* Located in Parramatta with flexible working arrangements available
* Clerk Grade 9/10 - $129,464 to $142,665 plus superannuation and leave loading

About the role

* Lead delivery of key learning and people development programs to support workforce capability across the department.
* Provide clear advice, briefings and updates on program progress, risks and outcomes to senior leaders.
* Build strong partnerships across the department and external stakeholders to drive engagement in learning initiatives.

The Program and Operations Lead leads a small team to support the development and implementation of department-wide high level strategic and policy initiatives to enable programs of work to be delivered in a timely and coordinated manner.

The role also prepares briefings and correspondence; advice on complex matters; project management lead, analyse data from multiple sources to produce accurate reports and insights for decision-making, and liaises and consults with other areas of the Department and a range of external stakeholders to seek and provide information and advice.

About you

* Bring strong program and project skills to plan, deliver and track complex initiatives.
* Provide clear advice and briefings on complex issues to support informed decisions.
* Build strong relationships across teams and stakeholders to drive shared outcomes.
* Experience using data analytics and visualisation tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI) to develop clear dashboards and reports. Manage competing priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Lead and support a small team to deliver quality outcomes and continuous improvement.
* Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Note: the selection process will include a range of assessment techniques to assist in determining your suitability for the role. Successful candidates will be required to undertake pre-employment screening for this role which includes a National Criminal History Check.

Renewal is not required after the WWCC expires, as long as you remain in a non–child-related role. Employer obligations only apply while the WWCC is valid.
