About the role

The Audit and Risk Team at IPART are looking for a Senior Governance Officer to join their supportive and collaborative team. This role involves supporting the organisation to take a systematic and ongoing improvement approach to meeting governance, risk, compliance, audit and assurance obligations, working closely with all levels of internal and third-party stakeholders. The role supports the secretariat for IPART's Audit and Risk Committee.

Reporting to the Principal Risk Officer, this role will have a key focus on providing a range of governance related services, reports, expert advice and support to ensure the organisation is compliant with statutory obligations, policy and industry standards.

This role is offered on a temporary basis, with the potential for an ongoing appointment subject to business needs and approvals.

About you

We are looking for a motivated and outcome-focused individual who thrives on working collaboratively, delivering activities to a high standard and with a level of professional judgement. You will possess strong time management skills with the ability to address multiple priorities and unforeseen issues. You will also be articulate in explaining risk, audit and assurance, and compliance and performance related requirements to stakeholders. Apply sound analytical skills when assessing complex policy, business systems and processes, and being able to communicate findings as a basis for process improvement and decision-making.

Previous similar experience in governance, audit, risk or compliance in a complex setting would be advantageous as well as relevant industry qualifications. A genuine interest in contemporary governance and industry standards along with keeping up to date with legislation, policies and processes will assist you in this role.

The salary range for this role is $130,571 to 139,769 per annum, plus superannuation and annual leave loading.
