Junior Planner supporting campus capital works, statutory planning and NSW policy development. Hybrid role

Hays is currently recruiting a Junior Planner to support statutory planning activities and provide planning advice for capital works projects across a major campus network. This is an excellent opportunity for an early‑career planner with government or university experience to step into a strategic and advisory-focused role.
You will work closely with the internal planning, property, and capital works teams to ensure campus development projects align with NSW planning frameworks, legislation, and policy requirements.
Your new role
Provide statutory planning advice to support capital works and campus projects
Assist in the assessment of development compliance under NSW planning legislation
Contribute to drafting planning policy, frameworks, and guidelines
Support the preparation of planning reports, documentation, and internal briefs
Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure planning requirements are incorporated into project design and delivery
Undertake research and analysis to support strategic planning priorities
What you'll need to succeed
2-3 years' experience in planning, preferably within a university or government setting
Strong understanding of the NSW planning framework and associated legislation
Experience providing statutory planning advice
Strong written communication skills and ability to draft planning documents and policy
Ability to work across multiple campuses as required
