Ready to work for a different kind of firm? We're looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking, capable Practice & Operations Manager to join our growing business, working flexibly, 4 days per week.
This role will oversee cross-functional processes, improve internal efficiency, implement scalable systems, and support regulatory compliance. You'll work closely with the forward-thinking Directors and an amazing legal team to bridge gaps between traditional legal workflows and modern SaaS scalability.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of administrative & practice management operations supporting two dynamic businesses. This role will ensure seamless coordination between the legal and administrative teams and supports lawyers in meeting their billable and performance targets.
The role will also provide leadership to accounts and administrative staff and work alongside the directors of the business. You will be the right-hand person bringing strong executional capability, project management, lateral thinking and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify and streamline operational processes across legal services, customer support, and SaaS platform delivery.
* Drive business efficiency through automation, workflow optimization, and system integrations (e.g., HubSpot).
* Define and monitor KPIs across departments (ARR, churn, caseload velocity, resolution time, etc.).
* Own and manage critical operational tools such as CRM (HubSpot/Salesforce), legal practice software (Smokeball), billing platforms (Stripe), and other platforms.
* Lead implementation of new tools to support both legal compliance and SaaS business functions.
* Oversee the human resources function including all HR systems and processes such as recruitment, onboarding, performance management, retention, offboarding, employee engagement & employee wellbeing.
* Oversee the administrative and operational support staff, creating a culture of accountability and efficiency.
* Support change management efforts by creating communication plans, training resources, and adoption metrics.
* Implement marketing initiatives to drive key marketing outcomes across the legal and Saas businesses.
* Contribute to the creation and refinement of marketing materials.
* Lead the administrative team to provide timely and accurate support to the wider team.
* Liaise with barristers, consultants, experts, and clients to facilitate smooth case progression.
* Manage billing, reporting, supplier relationships, and compliance obligations.
* Partner with leadership on firm-wide projects, systems upgrades, process improvements and cultural initiatives.
Experience and Attributes
* Experience in a practice or operations management role, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
* Minimum 3+ years of practice or operations management experience is desirable.
* Strong HR understanding with a knack for people and culture.
* Organised, process-driven mindset with an eye for operational improvement.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Tech-savvy.
* Thinks outside of the box.
