Job Title: Human Resources Manager

We are seeking an experienced HR professional to join our team as a Human Resources Manager. This role will play a key part in supporting the wellbeing, development, and professional life of all staff within the organisation.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of sound HR practice and be able to combine this with a strong knowledge of organisational policies and procedures.


Key Responsibilities:

* Take ownership of the end-to-end recruitment process and manage all internal and external recruitment requirements including the facilitation and scheduling of interviews, reference checks, liaising with agencies, participating in interview panels and finalisation of offers of employment.
* Update and monitor position descriptions in consultation with the relevant management team members.
* Oversee the administration of employee probationary reviews and confirmation of appointments.
* Maintain organisational charts.
* Oversee staff induction, orientation, and probation processes, design and deliver meaningful induction and onboarding experiences for new staff, ensuring they feel welcomed into the organisation.


HR Policy, Compliance, and Governance

The successful candidate will lead organisational compliance with all existing legal and government requirements including WHS, anti-discrimination, equal employment opportunity, national employment standards, Fair Work and the NPSS Enterprise Agreement.

They will assist in managing processes associated with disciplinary action, grievances, industrial relations and employment contract management.

Maintaining and updating HR policies and procedures in line with legal requirements, organisational policy and best practice is also a key responsibility.

Managing Blue Card and teacher registration compliance and maintaining accurate staff records is also required.

Supporting audit and reporting requirements for regulatory bodies and organisational governance is also necessary.


Employee Relations and Culture

The successful candidate will provide consultancy advice to management and staff generally in relation to workplace issues, conditions of employment, performance appraisals, staff development and disciplinary action.

Promoting a positive, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture consistent with the organisational ethos is also a key responsibility.

Coordinating wellbeing, recognition, and professional engagement initiatives is also required.

Supporting leaders in managing performance, feedback, and conflict resolution constructively is also necessary.

Providing confidential advice and guidance to staff on employment-related matters is also required.

Upholding confidentiality and professionalism at all times is essential.


Payroll and Employment Administration

The successful candidate will prepare and issue employment contracts, ensuring conditions are consistent with the relevant Awards and Enterprise Agreements.

Maintaining HR information systems (TASS) is also a key responsibility.

Working collaboratively with the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely payroll data and contract administration is also required.

Liaising with Payroll Officer as required to assist with payroll discrepancies, contractual issues and remuneration reviews is also necessary.


Professional Development

The successful candidate will support and coordinate professional learning for all staff.

Tracking compliance training (e.g. Child Protection, Workplace Health and Safety) is also a key responsibility.

Assisting in workforce planning and succession planning initiatives is also required.


Work Health and Safety (WHS)

The successful candidate will support the WHS Committee and the Management staff to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.

Maintaining incident reporting and risk management documentation as required is also a key responsibility.

Overseeing the Work Cover process and Return to Work program to promote healthy and safe work practices is also necessary.
