About the Role

The Senior Specialist, Library Digital Experience is responsible for improving the digital experience of Library clients by analysing user pathways, understanding system architecture and integrations, and optimising usability, access and performance. The role combines user consultation, behaviour analysis and system configuration to enhance workflows and implement improvements that support intuitive, consistent and effective digital experiences for students, academic staff and professional staff across the University. Working within Library IT and in partnership with other teams, the role ensures digital platforms and services effectively support learning, teaching and research.

Role responsibilities

* Work independently to optimise Library digital services by applying specialist expertise to solve complex problems.
* Proactively contribute to and manage projects involving changes to Library systems and services that may impact other areas of the University.
* Consult with clients and staff and analyse usage data and feedback to build evidence for system, workflow and interface improvements across key digital pathways.
* Configure and optimise system settings, data flows, integrations and interface behaviour, including testing changes, validating outcomes, documenting configurations and implementing improvements.
* Direct and apply research and data analytics to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
* Apply detailed knowledge of Library and University policies, processes and systems to support projects and operational outcomes.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver improvements through multidisciplinary collaboration.
* Work collaboratively across teams and units to deliver high-quality, client-centred digital services.
* Deputise for the Manager, Library IT as required.
* Perform other duties consistent with the role and classification level.

About You

* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills that enable effective engagement and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
* A proactive, solution-focused approach and strong learning agility.
* Advanced knowledge of current and emerging technologies, systems and data analytics relevant to digital library and learning environments.
* Strong understanding of user-centred design principles and the ability to evaluate and improve digital experiences based on evidence and client needs.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.
* Collaborative mindset with the ability to contribute effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Experience

* Demonstrated experience contributing to major projects and delivering outcomes within complex organisational environments.
* Proven ability to work effectively under pressure while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
* Extensive experience working collaboratively and independently to achieve team and organisational goals.
* Experience engaging with clients and staff to gather insights and using user research and data analysis to inform improvements to digital services and workflows.
* Demonstrated experience configuring and optimising complex digital platforms and system integrations, including working knowledge of relevant data structures and protocols.

Qualifications

Relevant degree qualification with substantial relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

What We Offer

Base Salary Range: $107,402 - $118,813 (HEW7) plus 17% superannuation (pension). The position is full time and will be made on a continuing basis.
