AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Straightforward Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
Our Region Services team redefines the way AWS designs, builds, and operates AWS regions to enable new AWS Cloud Infrastructure and Services offerings to customers across every industry and of every size, including start-ups, enterprises, and public sector organizations. We are actively seeking experienced Systems Development Engineers with a strong background in cloud operations.

Responsibilities
- The Systems Engineer leads the design, implementation, and automation of complex Windows infrastructure solutions across multiple environments. This role serves as the technical specialist for infrastructure automation, system architecture, and enterprise-scale Windows environment management, focusing on developing automated solutions for managing large server fleet.
- Design and implement automated solutions for Windows infrastructure deployment and management
- Architect and maintain Active Directory and domain controller infrastructure across multiple security domains
- Develop comprehensive Infrastructure as Code templates for Windows environments
- Create automated workflows for system administration using PowerShell, Python, and other automation tools
- Design and implement scalable solutions for meeting rooms, video walls, and enterprise printing services
- Lead technical initiatives for infrastructure improvements and automation
- Mentor junior engineers on automation best practices and Windows infrastructure management

Region Services provides the highest caliber Operational Solutions and Cleared Support for services within our Regions. We provide 'hands on keyboard' support to our service teams by deploying changes into these isolated regions, monitoring the results, and reporting any issues that are observed.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience in Windows Server administration and infrastructure design including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Windows Server 2019, 2022, 2025 technologies
- Advanced scripting capabilities in PowerShell
- Experience with virtualization technologies, particularly Hyper-V or equivalent
- Experience managing enterprise-scale Windows environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Advanced certifications in Microsoft technologies
- Experience with configuration management systems (SCCM, PowerShell DSC)
- Experience designing and implementing security controls in classified environments
- Proven track record of implementing large-scale automation solutions
- Architecture and system design capabilities
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools and CI/CD pipelines
