The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Consultant to provide a critical role within the Operational Performance and Cultural Reform team supporting the Office of the Associate Secretary.

**About the Business Unit**

The Department of Justice and Community Safety (department) provides a range of government programs and services which focus on improving community safety, victim services, regulatory services and crime prevention, and building strong collaboration across the justice system.

The Office of the Associate Secretary (Office) supports the Secretary to lead and manage the responsibilities and statutory requirements of the department. The Office leads key whole of department functions, including corporate functions, delivery of the department's data insights, analytics and modelling function, savings and organisational transformation, and overseeing the department's response to the Corrections Cultural Review of the adult custodial corrections system. It also provides oversight of the department's strategic and operational performance, with a focus on using data to inform system strategy, advice to Government and operational oversight.

Operational Performance and Cultural Reform (OPCR) is tasked with supporting the Associate Secretary in leading the department's agenda in the delivery of justice and community safety services in Victoria by providing advice to the Secretary, the Board of Management and Ministers regarding the department's strategic and operational performance and overseeing the Department's response to the Corrections Cultural Review.

**About the Role**

The Consultant is responsible for undertaking reviews and analysis of business activities, mapping and articulating processes, navigating complex data sources, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities that will optimise the department's service delivery to the Victorian community.

Some of your duties will include:

- Leading targeted operational and internal delivery reviews
- Using data-driven insights to make recommendations for optimising service delivery and improving community safety.
- Developing strong working relationships with business units to capture necessary information, coordinate efforts and manage interdependencies
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement within the department's processes

**About you**

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Data analysis and analytics: strong data analysis skills, including the ability to gather, clean, analyse and interpret data, and defining key performance indicators. Familiarity with business intelligence tools would be advantageous.
- Process modelling and analysis: proficiency in using process mapping tools and techniques to visually represent and effectively analyse and optimise complex business processes.
- Insight and recommendation synthesis: competence in synthesising research and analytical data to derive clear, actionable insights and recommendations

**Qualifications**

Qualifications in fields such as business administration, information systems, data analytics, public administration, economics or cognate disciplines would be highly regarded.
