We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Support Worker to join our team in Darwin. We are looking for an experienced female nursing support worker (permitted under the relevant state or territory anti-discrimination legislation as a genuine occupational requirement to support the safety, wellbeing, and expressed needs of the clients) to work with some of our female clients. In this role, you will provide essential care and support to patients while working closely with our healthcare team under the supervision of our Care Coordinator.
We prefer to employ people who reflect the diversity of our clients to ensure we can support each client\'s individual requirements.
This is a full-time position with variable 8-hour shifts, on-call requirements and overtime as required. The successful applicant is expected to work for 38-40 hours per week with salary range between $69,000 - $75,000.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver primary medical care and daily patient monitoring
* Develop and manage personalized care plans
* Support and implement rehabilitation activities
* Execute therapy protocols for challenging cases
* Maintain detailed patient progress notes and care documentation
* Create supportive environments for patients in need
* Uphold professional boundaries and maintain strict patient confidentiality
Required Qualifications
* Current First Aid Certificate with CPR
* Certificate III or higher in Individual Support, Nursing, or related health/care studies
* Experience in healthcare settings
* Working with Vulnerable People check must be obtained before commencing in the role
* Minimum of 1 year experience in healthcare settings is required
* Demonstrated understanding of or the ability to acquire knowledge of the local Aboriginal culture and their health-related issues
* Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse cultural and language backgrounds
* Strong problem-solving abilities with adaptable approach to various situations
* Current knowledge of social care sector standards and conduct codes
* Proven ability to build positive relationships with patients and their families
* Passion for caring for others and a commitment to deliver personalised holistic care that supports our clients
* Effective verbal and written communication skills with a client service focus
* Experience in similar healthcare support roles
* Experience using a computer, systems and applications
* Ability to speak multiple languages (preference to Malayalam, Tamil and working knowledge of Hindi)
* Interest in learning basic communication skills in local Aboriginal languages
* Current NT driver licence or ability to acquire
