Production Leadership Role
This permanent, full-time position is a key opportunity to lead a team in a dynamic open-cut coal mining environment.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Operations Manager to oversee Mining operations and Supervisors, focusing on high-performance culture development. A structured approach is required, with an emphasis on training and developing Supervisors to empower sound decision-making.
* Lead by example in setting and demonstrating high Safety, Health, and Environmental standards.
* Provide strong leadership to foster a high-performance culture.
* Oversee and coordinate Dragline, drill, and blast activities.
* Collaborate with Maintenance to meet operational targets.
* Report daily production data, coordinate end-of-month data, perform reconciliations, and monitor costs to ensure budgets are met.
* Maintain productive, collaborative relationships across disciplines.
* Forecast resource needs to achieve future production targets.
* Benchmark results, processes, and strategies industry-wide.
* Embrace Continuous Improvement strategies to enhance safety, performance, productivity, and job satisfaction.
This role operates on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, with options for residential (Moranbah), DIDO, or FIFO from Brisbane.
Key Qualifications:
* Certification as a Mining Supervisor and/or OCE.
* Mining-related Qualification or Degree (advantageous but not essential).
* 3-5 years experience as a Production Supervisor or Superintendent in open-cut coal mining, with extensive Dragline experience.
* Strong commitment to team leadership and safety culture development.
* Business improvement, forecasting, and budgeting skills.
* Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
