We are currently seeking a Full Time Head Chef to join our team.
Position Objectives
Responsible for the preparation of nutritionally balanced meals for the residents of the facility and maintaining specific nutritional requirements.
Responsible for maintaining food preparation areas in a safe and hygienic environment as per the Facility's Policy and Procedures, which are consistent with Legislative requirements.
Responsible for ensuring the Kitchen Operation adheres to the Food Safety Program.
Responsible for training and providing direction to other members of the Kitchen team with regards to the Food Safety Program.
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and/or equivalent or higher qualifications.
Experience working in a commercial cooking environment such as an aged care facility or hospital will be highly regarded.
Demonstrates genuine desire to care for frail aged people.
Able to effectively communicate in written and oral English.
Prepare, season and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements where required.
Clean and organize kitchen and equipment in adherence to hygiene and safety regulations.
Preserve and store food items in appropriate temperature-controlled facilities.
A valid NDIS Screening Clearance Card is required or willing to obtain.
Food Safety Supervisor Certificate is required or willing to obtain.
