Internal Auditor
A newly created role has emerged with a progressive WA Government organisation, offering the opportunity to combine governance, risk, and compliance expertise with a strong ESG and sustainability mandate.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Chief ESG Officer, you will play a key role in evaluating and improving the organisation's risk management, internal controls, and governance processes. You'll conduct audits, identify risks, ensure compliance, and recommend improvements, all while contributing to sustainability and ESG commitments that are deeply embedded in the organisation's strategy.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct financial, operational, and compliance audits to assess adherence to regulations and frameworks.
* Develop and implement audit policies, procedures, and documentation aligned with best practice.
* Prepare and present audit reports with actionable recommendations.
* Track corrective actions to ensure timely resolution of findings.
* Partner with stakeholders to promote an ethical, transparent, and values-led culture.
About You
* Relevant Lead Auditor qualification.
* Tertiary qualifications and/or proven experience in compliance, audit, or risk management.
* Strong knowledge of auditing standards, governance, and internal controls.
* Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work in a collaborative, values-driven environment.
* Experience in resources, maritime, mining, or construction (desirable).
* Ability to travel within WA and interstate.
* C Class Driver's Licence.
* Pre-employment checks including psychometric, drug/alcohol, and Maritime Security Identification Card.
