Responsibilities
Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing
Prepare patients for physical examinations, including vital signs and ancillary testing (vaccines, injections, phlebotomy, PFTs, audiogram testing, respirator fit testing)
Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.)
Assist providers during examinations and treatments
Perform routine medical procedures as ordered, triage emergent patients, and assist with injury care
Apply bandages, dressings, splints, and dispense medications and DME as ordered
Complete quality assurance on equipment and devices
Maintain supplies, clean and stock exam rooms, operate medical devices, and notify management of issues
Support patient flow, inform patients of wait times, and perform clerical tasks including front office duties
Ensure documentation accuracy, follow HIPAA and safety guidelines, and attend staff meetings
Maintain a clean and organized facility and complete required training
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with externship, or at least one year of patient care experience, or military medical specialist experience (must meet state credentials)
At least six months of medical assistant experience, with knowledge of procedures and terminology
Knowledge of occupational medicine requirements preferred
Skills include service mentality, attention to detail, decision-making, customer service, confidentiality, communication, teamwork, and certifications (e.g., drug screen collection, breath alcohol)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry
