About the Role
You'll manage reception and overnight duties, respond to incidents, support residents with day-to‐day needs and help maintain a welcoming, trauma‐informed environment. Working under the House 49 Program Manager, you'll be a steady presence for residents and a key part of keeping the site safe and running smoothly. You will manage reception afternoon and evening shifts as well as covering overnight shifts as and when required.
This is a casual role during afterhours based in Darwin, NT at House 49. Paying is in accordance with a SCHADS Level 3.
How You Will Make an Impact
* Build supportive, professional relationships with residents
* Provide calm, appropriate responses to incidents and emergencies
* Monitor building activity and security, including CCTV
* Assist residents to maintain shared and individual living spaces
* Carry out reception duties with warmth and professionalism
* Keep communication logs and case notes up to date
* Participate in handovers and maintain strong team communication
* Undertake welfare checks as required
* Report maintenance issues and safety concerns promptly
What You Will Bring
* Experience supporting people experiencing homelessness
* Understanding of recovery-focused, trauma-informed practice
* Ability to stay calm and grounded in challenging situations
* Strong communication skills and ability to maintain boundaries
* Experience working with people who may not have English as a first language
* Basic computer and data entry skills
* Certificate III in Community Services or relevant experience
