Horizon Power are searching for a Planning Engineer who wants to apply their technical expertise to real world projects that make a difference in local communities.

Your Role in Action 
- Undertake power system simulation studies to understand future business requirements, including steady state and dynamic modelling of power systems. 
- Develop future energy system plans, consistent with Horizon Power’s transition to renewable energy incorporating customer energy resources. 
- Conduct generation and load connection studies for customers and support new customer opportunities. 
- Undertake financial and feasibility analysis to feed into options analysis for business cases and strategic projects. 
- Support and contribute to business case development for project approvals, offering sound technical input. 
What You Bring to the Team 
Someone who has an ability to multitask, stay agile and deliver quality work and with preferably 3-5 years relevant industry experience, skills and knowledge. 
- Solid knowledge and understanding of energy systems (generation, transmission and distribution) is essential. 
- Sound knowledge of energy systems planning principles and financial analysis of evaluation principles is desirable. 
- Knowledge of renewable energy resources, inverters and energy systems technology is desirable. 
- Experience with PowerFactory and/or HOMER is desirable.
