Representing a Growing Small-to-Mid-Tier Mining Company
We are partnering with an ambitious and growth-focused mining company to appoint a Processing Manager to provide strategic and technical leadership across the metallurgy and processing functions in Broken Hill.
Our client is a dynamic, small-to-mid-tier mining business with an established, producing base metals operation and working toward bringing a second project into production within the next few years. They foster a collaborative, non-hierarchical culture and are seeking a Processing Manager who thrives in hands-on environments and has a background in operational management and team leadership.
The Opportunity
Reporting the General Manager, you will assume full control of Processing, Rail Loading and Tailings Storage Facilities and drive operational excellence and statutory compliance to ensure the consistent achievement of corporate objectives, KPIs, and performance targets.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee production and maintenance activities to ensure timely and safe execution.
* Provide leadership and demonstrate behaviours that align with the Company values, including delivery of all plans put forward
* Develop and oversee the metallurgy strategy to achieve set budgets and targets
* Ensure timely reporting of daily, weekly and monthly production while identifying variances ad initiating timely rectifying.
* Maximise metallurgical recoveries at optimal concentrate grade.
* Work with Geology to establish effective and value adding blend to the mill and ensure the reconciliation process is effective for site production cycle.
* Supervise metallurgical test work and manage projects from concept to completion
* Lead processing feasibility studies for resource development
* Scutinise capital and operating budgets and forecasts through monitoring of period costs and take appropriate corrective actions to stay within budget.
Candidate Profile
* Tertiary Qualification in Metallurgy, Process or Chemical Engineering
* Demonstrated experience in management of mineral processing operations – preferably polymetallic – i.e. Zn, Pb, Ag.
* Demonstrated success in implementing preventative and reliability-based maintenance strategies
* Working knowledge of relevant regulatory, legislative frameworks, codes and standards.
* Willing to relocate to Broken Hill (relocation and rent subsidy provided)
* Working 5/2 (Monday – Friday) roster
* Alternatively, an option of being Adelaide-based and working a 5/2 – 4/3 roster can be negotiated.
