We offer free, confidential services to help victim-survivors navigate their compensation and redress options, including through assistance in applying to the National Redress Scheme, Victims of Crime Compensation Schemes, and the Territories Stolen Generation Redress Scheme.Our team provides free legal assistance, financial counselling, social support and specialised cultural support for First Nations people. There are couches, puzzles and always food!We provide the following benefits:• General leave entitlements, with shut down between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day without deduction from your annual leave• 17.5% leave loading on annual leave• Not-for-Profit salary packaging options through our provider including general expense, parking, novated lease, and meals and entertainment programs• Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid arrangements of 2 days working from home, pro-rated for part time (following a qualifying period during probation and assessment of the home office environment)• Access to paid regular external supervision, in addition to regular work supervision• Generous professional training and development opportunities in addition to our core training requirements• Access to EAP• Additional 0.5% superannuation on top of the guaranteed rateWhat You’ll Do• Provide crisis and short-term counselling and support to clients, face to face or on the phone.• Collaborate with lawyers, our First Nations Engagement Advisors and multidisciplinary teams to minimise the legal process’s impact on clients• Assist clients with referrals to essential services• Conduct outreach, including visits to remote and regional communities• Represent Knowmore in community education and advocacy initiatives• Provide informal debriefing and support to co-workers to enhance awareness of wellbeing in a trauma informed organisational frameworkWhat We’re Looking For• A Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or Counselling• Must be eligible for membership with PACFA, ACA or the AASW having completed a recognised Psychotherapy, Counselling, Psychologyor Social Work Degree• 5 years + relevant experience• Experience providing trauma-informed counselling• Cultural competency – experience working respectfully and in a culturally safe way with First Nations communities• Strong teamwork & stakeholder engagement skills• Commitment to self-care and reflective practiceExperience working with multidisciplinary teams would be highly regarded.Knowmore's ApproachOur Social Work Counsellors work closely with our Lawyers, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Engagement Advisers and Financial Counsellors to ensure our clients’ needs are met.Our work is underpinned by our values of respect, team-work, courage, integrity and innovation.How to applyFurther Information about knowmore is available at www.knowmore.org.au.
