Community Care Workers provide essential support to individuals in their own homes or community settings, helping them maintain their independence and quality of life. They assist with daily activities, offer emotional support, and promote well-being for people who may be elderly, disabled, chronically ill, or recovering from illness.
Key Responsibilities:
Personal Care:
Assist clients with personal hygiene (bathing, dressing, toileting).
Medication Support:
Prompt or assist with taking prescribed medications.
Meal Preparation:
Help with preparing nutritious meals and feeding if necessary.
Mobility Support:
Assist with getting in and out of bed, using mobility aids, or moving around safely.
Domestic Assistance:
Perform light household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping.
Companionship:
Provide emotional support, engage in conversation, and reduce feelings of isolation.
Transportation:
Escort or drive clients to appointments, social outings, or errands (if applicable).
Monitoring and Reporting:
Observe and report any changes in health, behavior, or circumstances to supervisors or healthcare professionals.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Certificate III in Individual Support/aged
Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
Current First Aid and CPR certification
Police Check / Working With Children Check, NDIS clearance
Proof of vaccinations (e.g., flu, COVID-19) may be required
Manual handling practical certificate
Work is carried out in clients' homes and community environments
Flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
