We are currently seeking a Food Services (Tuckshop) Assistant who alongside the Food Services Convenor will operate our growing and busy Tuckshop.
The position requires the successful candidate to work, Thursdays and Fridays, term time from 8.00am – 2.00pm. From time to time, there may also be additional hours required for planned College events or during staff absences.
ABOUT THE ROLE
In this term time position, ensure food is prepared in a timely and efficient manner while always maintaining the highest level of hygiene. This position is fast paced and requires an ability to be consistent and display a high level of customer service. Primarily this individual will be responsible for supporting the Tuckshop with daily food service. This is a hands-on role and requires the ability to work within a team.
All applicants must:
* Have a commitment to a church and the ethos of Christian education
* Be an Australian Citizen or
* Be a permanent resident or
* Have an appropriate permit to work in Australia
Work Requirements:
* Hold a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or be willing to undertake same)
* Be willing to undertake a Barista certificate course
* Current Valid Blue Card
* Food preparation skills such as light cooking, assembly and presentation or background in hospitality/retail – an advantage but not essential
* Enthusiastic person with an engaging and positive outlook who displays outstanding customer service at all times and a passion for Smart Choices in food
* Pastorally demonstrate and model to students, staff and community members a Christian life approach
Key Duties:
* Tuckshop operations including preparation of food orders
* Cash and eftpos handling.
* End of day reconciliations
* Liaising with staff, parents, students regarding food orders
* Assist with receiving, checking and storing of deliveries
* Adhere to food hygiene requirements (including covering and storing of food). Ensure general cleanliness of Tuckshop, all equipment and food preparation areas are thoroughly cleaned
* General cleaning duties and weekly deep cleaning duties
* Assist with event catering
