What you will do as a Director in the Digital ID Division
The Digital ID Divison is looking for individuals who are passionate about supporting the needs of Australians through trust, inclusivity and choice through digital ID services.
As the Digital ID Regulator, the ACCC has a crucial role in building trust in digital ID services and is responsible for promoting compliance with the Digital ID Act and related legislation by government and private sector stakeholders. This includes accrediting entities to provide Digital ID services under the Digital ID legislation, approving entities to participate in the Australian Government Digital ID System, undertaking compliance monitoring, and enforcement activities for the non-privacy aspects of the Digital ID legislation, and providing guidance and information to stakeholders to support understanding of the Digital ID legislation and the Digital ID Regulator’s functions.
As a Director in the Digital ID Division, you will lead and develop a high-performing team to deliver critical work to meet the Division's objectives.
We have immediate vacancies for Director roles in the following teams:
* Product Development: aligns business goals with user needs, sets the product strategy and roadmap, and drives delivery of features using business analysis, user insights, and stakeholder collaboration.
* Operations, Data and Delivery: provides technology operations, data analysis, and delivery management to ensure system reliability, support change and incident management, and enable data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
* Accreditation: accredits entities to provide Digital ID services under the Digital ID legislation. The legislated voluntary accreditation scheme includes strong privacy, cyber security, and fraud protections which are assessed as part of the accreditation process. In addition to assessing applications for accreditation, the Accreditation team also manage the annual review requirements of accredited entities.
The Recruitment Process Will Establish a Merit Pool And May Be Used To Fill Future Ongoing And Non-ongoing Positions That May Also Arise In The Other Teams In The Division, Including
* Stakeholder Engagement: supports the ACCC’s role as the Digital ID Regulator through building maintaining and utilising effective engagement channels including with participating entities, consumers and businesses. The team develops our overall engagement strategies and supports the application processes, change management, education and outreach activities.
* Guidance and Policy: develops and makes available public guidance and information in relation to accredited and approved entities’ obligations, regulatory processes, and the carrying out of the Digital ID Regulator’s functions or the exercise of its powers. The team also has a policy co-ordination and advocacy role including in response to formal consultation processes.
* Approvals: maintains and oversees the Australian Government Digital ID System (AGDIS). The Digital ID Regulator is responsible for approving entities to participate in the AGDIS. In addition to assessing applications for approval to participate, the Approvals team engages regularly with other government stakeholders including the Office of the System Administrator which is responsible for managing the availability of the AGDIS and other related operational functions.
* Compliance and Enforcement: undertakes compliance and enforcement activities under the Digital ID legislation, engaging with regulatory partners and stakeholders, and contributing expert advice on policy matters related to compliance and enforcement issues.
* Strategy, Governance and Coordination: supports strategic initiatives, governance, and coordination across the Division, ensuring alignment with broader agency priorities and effective delivery of the Digital ID Regulator System.
