The Interventional Cardiologist will be a valued member of the Cardiac Services Team providing both interventional and non-interventional cardiology services where appropriate.
Responsibilities include:
* Work in collaboration with other AWH interventional cardiologists.
* Participate in cardiology ward service roster for patients admitted under the Cardiology Unit.
* Manage patients in outpatient settings, providing expert assessment, care coordination and management.
* Provide consultation and specialist support to physician colleagues and the Emergency Department.
* Perform pacemaker implantation and management (preferred).
* Provide echocardiography, transthoracic and transoesophageal echo services to inpatients and outpatients.
* Oversee transfers of patients as required.
* Participate in on-call duties.
* Provide outpatient consulting sessions as required.
* Support AWH education, training, quality and clinical governance meetings and activities, including supervision/teaching of junior staff.
