About the Role

As an Accountant, you will report directly to our CEO, Bas Tijdhof, drive accounting activities with accuracy for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), collaborate cross-functionally and be the point of contact for auditors and external tax advisors. This is a hands-on role where you'll be involved in tasks at all levels from day-to-day accounting activities, month-end closings to compliance with statutory obligations, and reporting to our publicly listed parent company.

Please note: This is a full-time hybrid role (4 days in our Adelaide office) with flexible hours. This role also includes occasional international travel, which would be communicated weeks in advance.

In this role you will:

Financial Operations

* Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and credit notes in collaboration with Customer Service team, supplier payments (including foreign currency), disputed charges, and overdue follow-ups.

* Perform bank and ledger reconciliations, file remittance advices, and maintain supporting schedules and accurate financial and CRM records, including journal entries, prepayments and accruals, ledgers and general accounts.

Reporting

* Finalize month-end and year-end reporting in Xero, Salesforce and AARO, including intercompany reconciliations, adjustments, and required journals processing.

* Prepare financial statements including balance sheet reconciliations, income statements, and cash flow statements/forecasts and lead reporting to parent company.

* Support Business Controllers in management reporting and financial discussions if needed.

* Monitor cash position and cash flow and report regularly to the parent company.

Compliance (Audits & Tax)

* Prepare audit materials and lodge statutory filings (BAS, IAS, IRD) and prepare and file tax returns accurately and on time in collaboration with auditors and external advisors.

* Stay updated on accounting standards, and local tax regulations to ensure compliance.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced professional who is autonomous, takes ownership, and brings enthusiasm to the role. You'll be comfortable collaborating globally within a large organization while also thriving in a smaller, local team environment and delivering within deadlines. To succeed, you'll need a proactive mindset, the ability to wear multiple hats, and a willingness to dive into details when required.

If you're a flexible, hands-on professional who enjoys handling a wide range of responsibilities from routine administrative tasks to strategic initiatives, we'd love to hear from you

Ideal candidates will bring:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent education in accounting is preferred; Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) registration and understanding of Australian and New Zealand (ANZ) accounting regulations are required.

* Equivalent accounting experience of +5 years, ideally on a global setting with exposure to parent company reporting or group-level operations and multiple legal entities.

* Demonstrated experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, audits, and identifying inefficiencies and implementing process improvements.

* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

* Proficiency in accounting and CRM systems, (i.e. Xero, Dynamics 365, Salesforce).

* Proven ability in collaborating effectively both internally and externally and performing independently as well as contributing positively within a team environment.

* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
