Task & responsibilities
Preparing, cooking, and serving a wide variety of dishes according to the restaurant's recipes and personal judgment, working in collaboration with the owner and other professionals.
Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies.
Monitoring food stock levels and placing orders when required.
Maintaining the kitchen as a safe environment with a high level of cleanliness.
Working across pan, grill, and other hot and cold kitchen sections.
Monitoring and controlling food wastage and portion control on a daily basis.
Ensuring there is sufficient staff to provide food to customers in a timely manner.
Supervising and coordinating the work of other staff members and training them to prepare food to a high standard.
Introducing staff to new cooking techniques.
Monitoring client satisfaction related to food quality.
Performing quality control of raw and cooked dishes to ensure standards are met.
Determining how food should be presented.
Qualification & experience
Minimum Cert III in Commercial Cookery
Minimum one year experience in relevant field
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to lead staff
Ability to train staff
Commitment to high standards of food quality
Honesty and integrity
