We are seeking a Privacy Officer with a background as a lawyer to be a vital member of our Group Privacy team.
Reporting directly to the Privacy Lead you will build, embed and manage a comprehensive privacy framework across the entire organization.

Responsibilities
Translate complex legal and regulatory obligations into practical commercial business solutions, driving a Privacy by Design culture.
Provide expert privacy advice and guidance to all business units, including contractual review of privacy / data protection clauses.
Conduct thorough Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for new products, processes and digital initiatives (working closely with Digital and AI teams).
Develop, draft and maintain privacy policies, standards, guidelines and best practices that support compliant business outcomes.
Contribute to the implementation and ongoing management of the privacy risk management framework, helping manage and mitigate privacy incidents and risks.
Actively support the integration of Privacy by Design principles into product and service development lifecycles.
Help develop and run privacy training / education sessions and produce engaging content to uplift the group-wide data and privacy culture.
Contribute to strategic initiatives including the delivery of projects focused on Responsible Use of Data and enhancing Digital Trust.
Forge strong working relationships with key stakeholders across our diverse brands (Dan Murphys, BWS, ALH) and the Legal, Cyber Security, Data and AI teams.
Qualifications
Legal background (required): 2–4 years hands-on legal experience with a focus on privacy or technology/commercial law gained within a large organization, leading law firm or consulting firm.
Proven ability in research, analysis, drafting and communicating succinct, practical and accurate legal / regulatory advice.
Demonstrated capability in drafting and updating complex policies, standards and guidelines.
Ability to apply a risk-based commercial approach to problem-solving, balancing compliance with business objectives.
Excellent ability to build and nurture relationships across a diverse business landscape.
Desirable Attributes
Experience working on data governance initiatives, AI and data analytics from a privacy perspective.
A strong interest in technology and digital product development lifecycles.
