* Help victims of crime access support during difficult times. * Review applications and help people move through a simple process. * Work in a caring team that values cultural safety and respect. * Use your people skills to make a real difference every day. * Ongoing, full-time role earning $81,496 - $98,955 per year, plus super. What you will do As financial assistance scheme (FAS) intake and triage officer, you will support victims of crime through the financial assistance process. You will review applications, speak with victims and help prepare matters for assessment. You will: * provide clear advice about documents needed for applications * review applications and decide their priority using policies and procedures * make timely interim decisions to support urgent victim needs * communicate with victims in a sensitive, trauma-informed and culturally safe way * manage invoice payments and work with agencies to gather extra information. About you A qualification or experience in community services, social work, criminology, psychology, victim services or family violence is desirable. You should understand trauma-informed practice, family violence and sexual assault. Experience using Salesforce or similar systems is also desirable. You should also have: * strong experience supporting people affected by trauma * the ability to communicate in a respectful and empathetic way * a commitment to cultural safety, inclusion and better outcomes for Aboriginal people * good problem-solving skills and the ability to manage difficult conversations.
