With the rollout of our 20-Year Master Plan and several exciting projects on the horizon, we’re thrilled to expand and evolve our workforce to position us for continued growth into the future.ABOUT THE ROLEThe role is focused on delivering educational programs that inform, empower and inspire Primary, Secondary and Tertiary visitors to take action for conservation. You will report directly to the General Manager of Wild Learning, and the role will be responsible for -Developing, delivering, and continuously improving public and school-based education programs that inspire conservation action.designing impactful educational experiences for diverse audiences, facilitates engaging onsite and outreach programs, and delivers professional development opportunities for educators.Supporting casual education staff across both Zoos SA sites, contributing to a cohesive, high-performing team.Advancing Zoos SA’s strategic priorities by expanding the reach and quality of conservation education across the community.ABOUT YOUThe successful applicant will be a reliable, motivated, organised and enthusiastic team player looking for a challenging but rewarding role.To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the following essential criteria:National Police CheckSouth Australian Working with Children CheckHLTAID011 Provide First Aid & HLTAID012 in Education SettingsCompletion of RRHAN-EC - mandatory notification trainingTertiary qualification in education, conservation, science, or a related fieldDemonstrated experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating curriculum-aligned education programs.Strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and best practices in sustainability educationProven ability to lead teacher professional development and provide training to casual education staff.Excellent project and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and PowerPoint, with the ability to develop high-quality, visually engaging educational resources and presentations.Awareness of current conservation and environmental issues, with the ability to communicate these effectively in a visitor-focused context.It is desirable that you also have:Current South Australian Teacher RegistrationUndergraduate qualification in education, conservation, science, or a related fieldExperience managing internal and external stakeholders in an educational or community context.Previous experience managing or supervising a team.Direct experience in a conservation-related role or volunteer capacityExperience teaching HASS (Humanities and Social Sciences) or Science subjectsDemonstrated experience in developing, organising, and administering education programs.Ability or willingness to learn to drive a manual vehicle.HOW TO APPLYPlease complete the requested sections, attach your resume with a cover letter that specifies why this role is the best next step in your career.
