Salary: $88,255 - $95,413 + Super + Salary Sacrifice • Full time, Ongoing Role
Overview
As a Specialist Calibration Engineer / Specialist Calibration Engineering Technician, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the safe, accurate and reliable performance of biomedical equipment and instrumentation across SA Pathology. Working as part of a skilled, multi-disciplinary team, you will undertake calibration, planned and remedial maintenance, and in-service inspections in line with manufacturer recommendations, Australian Standards and Engineering Services policies. Your work will directly contribute to the delivery of quality healthcare by supporting clinicians and ensuring patient safety.
This is a dynamic and hands-on role where you will apply your specialist technical knowledge while contributing to continuous improvement activities and best practice outcomes. You’ll also have the opportunity to support the development of junior staff through training and mentoring, while expanding your own expertise in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
Responsibilities
- Calibrate, perform planned and remedial maintenance, and in-service inspections of biomedical equipment and instrumentation in line with manufacturer recommendations, Australian Standards and Engineering Services policies.
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure safe, accurate and reliable performance; contribute to continuous improvement and best practice outcomes.
- Support the development of junior staff through training and mentoring.
- Collaborate with clinicians to deliver quality healthcare and patient safety.
About You / Qualifications
- Strong communication and liaison skills; ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in complex equipment maintenance, diagnostics, and problem-solving in safety-critical environments.
- Extensive knowledge of NATA and Australian Standards for calibration, asset integrity testing, and biomedical systems.
- Track record of driving continuous improvement and applying best practice in biomedical device support.
