A top-tier law firm has partnered with Elevate and seeks an employment lawyer on a 9-month contract to provide legal support across a broad range of workplace matters, including employment law advisory, industrial relations issues and workplace investigations. This role will commence in April 2026 and is based in Sydney with flexibility for hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide advice on employment and industrial relations matters, including workplace legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements.
* Conduct and support workplace investigations.
* Draft, review, and update employment contracts and workplace documentation.
* Support the operational sustainability initiative (OSI), providing legal input into organisational change processes.
* Provide practical, commercially aligned legal support to the workplace relations and people unit teams.
* Liaise with the office of general counsel and internal stakeholders to ensure legally sound and consistent advice across the institution.
About You
* A minimum of 4+ years of post-admission experience, with strong employment and/or workplace relations experience.
* Solid understanding of Australian workplace relations legislation, including the Fair Work Act, awards, and enterprise bargaining frameworks.
* Experience in employment contract drafting, investigations, and workplace advisory work.
* Strong analytical and written communication skills with the ability to provide clear, practical advice.
* Ability to work collaboratively with HR, legal and senior stakeholders within a complex organisation.
