We're looking for a Senior Worker's Compensation Underwriter who shares our ambition. In this role, you'll support the underwriting of our workers compensation portfolios, applying expert judgement and leveraging digital tools to deliver exceptional customer outcomes. You'll collaborate with distribution partners, product teams, and fellow underwriters to drive growth, innovation, and underwriting excellence.
You'll also play a key role in supporting strategic initiatives and contributing to the evolution of our underwriting frameworks—all while helping shape the future of workers compensation insurance in a digital-first environment.
The Role Responsibilities:
* Support portfolio analysis of new and renewal business within specific limits and authority
* Ensure effective handling of Workers Compensation Insurance business, adhering to agreed service standards and principles
* Collaborate with brokers and internal teams to deliver tailored workers compensation insurance solutions
* Leverage data insights and digital tools to inform pricing, coverage decisions, and risk assessments
* Partner across Claims, Distribution, and other underwriting lines to support multi-line opportunities
* Contribute to underwriting innovation by sharing insights and supporting proposition development.
Key Requirements:
* Minimum of 5 years underwriting experience, preferably in workers compensation
* Understanding of underwriting systems, digital platforms, and data analytics
* Skilled in risk assessment using both traditional and digital methodologies
* Effective communicator and collaborator with internal teams and external partners
* Strong customer facing experience, with confidence to build and grow broker relationships
* Self-motivated with excellent communication skills, problem-solving and negotiation skills
* Demonstrate technical underwriting knowledge and capabilities.
