A unique opportunity is available for a highly experienced Registered Nurse to step into a leadership role of an Associate Nurse Unit Manager in a Coronary Care Unit at a private hospital in Melbourne. This is a permanent position with both full-time and part-time schedules available.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, your responsibilities will include:
* Facilitating a learning culture to ensure continuous improvement;
* Maintaining professional and constructive working relationships with our VMO partners, using a customer service mindset, to enable high-quality patient outcomes;
* Providing clinical operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management by coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence-based;
* Being accountable and responsible for the effective daily management of human, financial and material resources;
* Coordinating and driving clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives;
* Undertaking direct patient care, as required;
* Mentoring of staff.
REQUIREMENTS
* Current registration with AHPRA;
* 2-3 years of clinical experience in the Coronary Care Unit; Postgraduate qualifications in critical care (Cardiac preferred);
* Working with Children Check;
* Team leadership experience is required; Current or previous ANUM experience is desirable;
* Sound clinical knowledge;
* Compliance with ACQSHC National standards;
* Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills;
* Positive role modelling behaviours;
* Excellent customer service focus, time management and prioritisation.
ABOUT THE FACILITY The hospital, located in Melbourne, is a fully accredited tertiary facility with 334 beds, providing Emergency Services, Extensive Surgical Specialities, a 14-bed ICU, a 17-bed CCU, Medical, and a full range of Cardiac Services including two 24-hour Cardiac Catheter Laboratories and Victoria's only Single-Site Robotic Surgery Program. The hospital has 15 theatres, including a hybrid theatre, diagnostic cardiology, two cardiac cath labs and capabilities for cardiothoracic surgery, orthopaedics, neurosurgery, urology and more. All supported by a newly expanded coronary care unit and intensive care unit.
