Role description:
As a Principal Digital Engineer, you will harness your engineering expertise and digital know-how to lead, manage, and deliver digital processes for medium to large-scale projects. Reporting directly to senior leadership in our Perth office, you'll be the driving force behind implementing cutting-edge digital solutions, optimizing project coordination, and delivering value for clients and communities alike. Role accountabilities:
* Digital Delivery Leadership: Implement, manage, and deliver digital processes at the business unit level, ensuring best-in-class project outcomes.
* Team Empowerment: Lead, mentor, and manage digital resources—supporting both local and global teams to deliver outstanding results.
* Technical Ownership: Take charge of the Common Data Environment (CDE) package, oversee workflows, and champion process improvements.
* Project Excellence: Drive the technical aspects of digital processes on major projects, from BIM modelling to data analytics and visualisation.
* Innovation & Automation: Explore and introduce new ways to automate standard processes, assessing and piloting new software solutions.
* Collaboration: Work closely with design teams, CDE SMEs, and business leaders to resolve issues, enhance efficiencies, and deliver sector-wide initiatives.
* Quality & Compliance: Ensure all digital engineering outputs meet Arcadis and national standards, fostering a culture of safety, sustainability, and excellence.
* Strategic Thinking: Periodically review and update digital engineering processes, actively shaping the future of Arcadis' service delivery.
Qualification & Experience:
* Substantial experience in digital engineering, design, or drafting, with a proven track record on medium to large projects.
* Professional development such as ISO 19650 accreditation highly desirable.
* Deep understanding of CDE requirements, BIM standards, document management, and digital workflows.
* Strong technical proficiency with digital engineering and data visualisation tools.
* Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead teams, manage resources, and drive continuous improvement.
* Commercial acumen and a passion for sustainable development.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills.
* Able to identify risks, solve problems, and deliver quality outcomes for clients and communities.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations, and a commitment to Arcadis' culture of inclusion and accountability.
