About the Role
Are you a compassionate person dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of others? We are seeking a reliable and empathetic Personal Care Attendant (PCA) to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to our clients, ensuring they live with dignity, comfort, and independence in their own homes or care environments.
You will be more than just a carer; you will be a companion and a vital link in our clinical support network.
Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day duties will be varied and centered around the unique needs of our clients, including:
* Personal Care & Hygiene: Providing respectful assistance with showering, bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene.
* Mobility Support: Ensuring safe transfers (e.g., bed to chair) and assisting with the use of mobility aids and directed exercise.
* Meal Preparation: Preparing nutritious meals according to dietary preferences and assisting with feeding and intake monitoring.
* Domestic Support: Maintaining a clean and comfortable environment through housekeeping, laundry, mopping, and vacuuming.
* Companionship: Building meaningful relationships through conversation and engaging in social activities.
* Community Access: Running errands, grocery shopping, and accompanying clients to medical appointments.
* Clinical Reporting: Observing and reporting any changes in a client's health or condition to the Clinical Lead.
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must be committed to high standards of care and meet the following criteria:
* Certifications: Must hold and maintain a current First Aid certificate and a Police Check (issued within the last 3 years).
* CPR: Current CPR certification (refreshed annually).
* Transport: A valid driver's license, comprehensive vehicle insurance & current car registration.
* Development: Participate in ongoing training and Continued Professional Development (CPD) as requested.
* Attributes: Strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, and a genuine passion for aged and disability care.
