Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in nursing education? Join the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Sciences as a Lecturer in Nursing (Academic Level B) to help build the future of healthcare by educating and inspiring the next generation of nursing professionals.

As a Lecturer in Nursing, you will develop and deliver high-quality, profession-specific education across Master’s or undergraduate nursing programs. You will contribute to curriculum development, engage in scholarly research, and foster strong industry partnerships to enhance the student experience and program growth in both face-to-face and online modes. You will supervise honours and postgraduate students, collaborate with colleagues across disciplines, and participate in research aligned with CQUniversity’s strategic priorities. Your engagement with local health services, schools, and networks will strengthen community connections and expand the reach of our nursing program.

Position Details

Location: CQUniversity Cairns, Townsville, Mackay or Rockhampton. One position must be based in Cairns (Master of Nursing - Graduate Entry). Two continuing, full-time roles (part time negotiable) in the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Sciences. Total remuneration: $134,885 to $157,870 per annum (including salary of $113,980 to $133,403 plus 17% superannuation and leave loading).

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver high-quality nursing education for Master’s or undergraduate programs; contribute to curriculum development; engage in scholarly research; foster industry partnerships; supervise honours and postgraduate students; collaborate across disciplines; participate in research aligned with CQUniversity’s priorities; engage with local health services, schools, and networks to strengthen community connections and expand the program’s reach.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Possession of an undergraduate nursing degree and a Master’s qualification with a minimum three-year recent post-registration clinical experience.
- Registered as a Nurse (Division 1) in Australia, with evidence of meeting NMBA Recency of Practice registration standards (AHPRA site).
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or ability to complete within 12 months of commencement.
- Proven ability in nursing education, including writing course materials and teaching in clinical and academic nursing fields.
- Ability and willingness to participate in research and scholarly activities including publications, conferences, grants, and contribution to research teams.
- PhD completed or enrolled with Confirmation of Candidature (or near CoC) – Desirable.
