About the role

The Test Automation Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software products by driving the design and delivery of automated testing solutions. This position leads the development of scalable automation frameworks and strategies that support continuous testing across complex, fast‑paced development environments. With a strong focus on innovation and efficiency, the Test Automation Lead ensures testing processes are robust, repeatable, and aligned with organisational quality standards.

Working at the centre of cross‑functional collaboration, the Test Automation Lead partners closely with developers, business analysts, and project managers throughout the software development lifecycle. They are responsible for defining clear test requirements, establishing acceptance criteria, and developing automated test suites for web, mobile, and API‑driven applications. By analysing results, identifying root causes of defects, and driving continuous improvement initiatives, they help teams deliver high‑quality software at speed.

In addition to technical expertise, this role provides leadership and mentoring to a team of automation testers, ensuring consistent delivery of high‑quality test outcomes. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands‑on experience across modern automation tools and technologies, along with the ability to evaluate and introduce new solutions that enhance coverage and efficiency. Regular reporting, metrics, and stakeholder communication round out this dynamic and influential position.

About you

Key Responsibilities:

* Extensive experience in software testing, test automation lead or senior automation role.
* Hands-on experience with automation tools such as TOSCA, Webdriver io / Karate framework Selenium, Appium, Cypress, or similar.
* Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
* Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
* Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Qtest, JIRA, Zephyr).
* Strong understanding of software development and testing methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban).
* Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred experience with cloud-based testing solutions, knowledge of containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) will be highly regarded.
