Key Policy Specialist Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Insurance Operations team in a key policy-specialist role.
This position involves ensuring the integrity of insurance administration and underwriting functions, maintaining compliance with service standards and legislative requirements, managing complex queries, and driving quality assurance across insurance processes.
* Manage the Underwriting mailbox and respond to queries professionally and promptly.
* Support member-facing teams, insurers, and administrators with insurance-related queries and reviews.
* Investigate and resolve complex and escalated issues, including those under the Delegated Authority Framework and cover commencement matters.
* Conduct reviews and audits to support quality assurance initiatives.
* Provide subject matter expertise for business initiatives, process improvements, and incident management.
* Maintain and improve the insurance quality framework to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
* Collaborate with the MEX Member Performance Quality Assurance program for oversight activities.
* Contribute to projects and tasks as assigned by the Manager.
Requirements
* Experience in insurance operations, preferably within superannuation, consultancy, or insurance sectors.
* Expertise in superannuation insurance policies.
* Strong technical knowledge of insurance processes, policies, and conditions.
* Familiarity with commercial and reporting aspects of insurance.
* Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly.
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including senior leaders.
* Strong organizational skills to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
