About the role
This role supports the delivery of a comprehensive and high-quality pharmacy service, contributing directly to safe and effective patient care. Working as part of a collaborative pharmacy team, you will assist with the dispensing and distribution of medications, packaging of pharmaceuticals and day-to-day inventory management, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and compliance with established procedures.
You will also play a key role in supporting pharmacy operations by assisting with the ordering and preparation or manufacture of pharmaceuticals, organising daily workloads and contributing to the technical training and support of staff. This position offers an opportunity to develop practical pharmacy skills within a structured healthcare environment while working closely with pharmacists and other health professionals to maintain service continuity and quality.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong foundation in pharmacy practice, a willingness to learn and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary healthcare environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety and professionalism.
* Qualifications, eligibility and experience
Eligible through experience as an AHA1 in SA Pharmacy (or equivalent) for a minimum of six months, or currently undertaking or holding a relevant Certificate III or above qualification, supported by proven pharmacy experience and proficiency in Pharmacy Management Software.
* Technical knowledge and accuracy
Sound knowledge of pharmaceutical products, medical terminology, the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme and pharmacy manufacturing, clinical and dispensing methods, with strong arithmetic skills and attention to detail to ensure safe and accurate outcomes.
* Communication, teamwork and professionalism
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, ability to work effectively both independently and within a team, and confidence communicating with people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds while maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical practice.
* Organisation, adaptability and physical capability
Strong organisational skills with the ability to follow policies, procedures and work instructions, demonstrate good technical and manual dexterity, and meet the physical requirements of the role, including lifting, pushing, reaching and working across varied pharmacy settings.
