Work in an environment that offers: Support for career progression and development An opportunity to work with a leading regional health service A strong attitude to teaching and learning The Position Job Reference: 2387 Position Title: Geriatric Medicine Advanced Trainee Registrar Classification: HM25 - HM30 Salary per hour (exc. super): As per award Hours per fortnight: 86 Employment Status: Full Time Fixed Term (12 or 24 months commencing from February 2026) Closing date: 29/06/2025 Bendigo Health is seeking Geriatric Medicine Advanced Trainees (ATs) for the 2026–2027 training year. Positions are RACP-accredited. Regional training programs offered include; 1- or 2-year program with Bendigo Health; or a new 3-year program in partnership with Austin Health where selected trainees who undertake a successful 1-2 years of training at Bendigo Health will have a guaranteed pre-match registrar role at Austin Health. Each of the Bendigo Health appointed registrars will rotate through three of the following terms in the year: GEM Orthogeriatrics & Surgical Liaison Geriatrics on Acute (includes Psychiatry and General Medicine consults) Geriatrics in ED (assessment and liaison) Community Geriatrics (GEM@Home) Additional Information: Flexibility- greater opportunities to accommodate choice of speciality for terms New Regional Hospital – large regional hospital, new facilities, specialities/units Training opportunities –specialised training in telehealth with our unit Digital health Training Program (series of online teaching sessions via Monash Uni, presented by Prof Chris Bain) Opportunity for future employment across the region Weekly clinic participation (may include: CDAMS, General Geriatric Medicine, Geri-Connect Telehealth service, Falls and Balance, Continence or the Movement Disorder Clinic) Attendance at the fortnightly Victorian Geriatric Medicine Training Program and in-house training sessions Working with Bendigo Health Bendigo Health are a leader in regional health care, combining outstanding services with a strong education, training and personal development culture.
