We are looking for a skilled and experienced individual to join us in the role of Underground Operator within the Fixed Plant Maintenance department at George Fisher Mine. Reporting to the Supervisor – Fixed Plant Operations you will be required to work safely to conduct all tasks associated with Crushing and Conveying. You will be required to operate conveyor systems and mobile equipment whilst maintaining a high level of housekeeping. You must hold a current manual drivers' license and possess a proactive attitude toward safety. The ideal person will have experience in underground fixed plant operations & maintenance and the ability to follow relevant processes and procedures. This role will be residentially based in Mt Isa and will consist of a 7 on, 7 off - day and night continuous roster.
Your key responsibilities include:
Responsible for the performance of crushing plant prestart checks.
Undertaking minor servicing and repairs.
Housekeeping including operation of loaders, mucking and rehandling of spillage, collection and disposal of steel and rubbish from the ore system.
Assisting with planned and unplanned shutdowns.
Communicating with mine control to ensure efficient crushing and hoisting.
Operating and the replacement of dewatering equipment
Responsible for following safety practices and procedures when undertaking work.
Behaving in line with Glencore values including actively participating in training and development activities.
Being compliant with GFM policies, standards, procedures when undertaking role.
Identification of continuous opportunities.

Versatile approach and adaptable to change with a high attention to detail
Good time management skills and able to work well under pressure
Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
Current Manual driver’s license
Loader ticket or be able to obtain
Previous experience in mining/underground operation
