Officer Road Inspections
Remuneration: Annual salary commencing at $82,559 plus up to 14% superannuation.

Role Overview: Officer Road Inspector supports the Coordinator Road Operations in the systematic inspection, condition rating and monitoring of Council and TMR road network infrastructure and assets. The role ensures the timely capture of defect information for the Maintenance Database, assists in developing maintenance schedules, and facilitates efficient completion of maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
* Inspect and condition‐rate Council and TMR road network infrastructure and assets.
* Conduct routine maintenance inspections to monitor the general serviceability of assets, ensuring user safety.
* Apply a condition rating system to assess past maintenance effectiveness and identify current and future maintenance needs.
* Identify structural and material defects and recommend appropriate corrective action.
* Monitor and report on all transport assets to inform future planning.
* Collect and record accurate inspection data electronically.
* Supervise contractors and deliver outcomes aligned with Council strategic and operational plans.
* Coordinate closely with all Council departments to provide responsive service meeting customer service standards.
* Promote a positive team environment, foster problem‐solving, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
* Participate in developing a healthy and safe workplace culture, identifying hazards and demonstrating safe work behaviours.
* Contribute to technology improvements supporting a mobile workforce and assist in procedure development related to the work area.
* Complete other relevant duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience
* Certificate IV in Civil Construction Operations or related field, or ability to obtain.
* Previous exposure to road asset inspections and maintenance operations.
* Understanding of risk management principles.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated self‐motivation and ability to work autonomously without supervision.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Experience with maintenance management systems such as Assetic, Authority, Reflect, Recover, Assignit.
* Knowledge of contemporary practice and legislative requirements relevant to road infrastructure.
* Intermediate computer literacy and experience with handheld computer devices.
* Queensland 'C' Class driver's licence or above that is current and maintained.
* Construction Industry White/Blue card.
