The Katherine Women's Crisis Centre (KWCC) is a dedicated organisation committed to supporting women and children affected by domestic, family, and sexual violence across the greater Katherine region. Our team fosters a safe, confidential, and culturally respectful environment that promotes healing, empowerment, and advocacy.
About the Program
The Women's Shelter (Crisis Accommodation Centre) is a core program of KWCC, operating 24/7 to provide crisis accommodation and holistic support to women and children escaping violence. Our services include:
* 48-hour crisis response
* Supported crisis accommodation
* Risk assessment and safety planning
* Case management
* Psychoeducation on domestic, family, and sexual violence
* Advocacy and empowerment
This role operates on a rotating 7-day roster, including day, evening, and overnight shifts.
Key Selection Criteria
* Diploma or higher qualification in Community Services (or related field), or equivalent experience
* Proven experience in case management
* Strong understanding of risk assessment and safety planning
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* In-depth knowledge of domestic, family, and sexual violence and its impacts
* Experience delivering culturally appropriate, trauma-informed, client-centred support
