About This RoleLead and provide integrated strategic advisory support on financial matters to Deputy Secretaries and other senior executives.Fixed, Full-Time opportunity (up to 5 years).SES Grade 1: $232,790 - $298,488 Total Renumeration Package.The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking aDirector, Financial Partneringto provide a critical role within the Finance Branch.About The Business Unit The Finance and Procurement business unit provides department-wide financial, procurement and workplace services through strategic leadership and setting the direction, policy and processes, and partnering with the department to build capability.The Finance Branch leads the department's efforts to comply with government and legislative financial management responsibilities while driving a culture of strategic financial management across the department. It is responsible for the department's financial and budgetary policies and processes, including statutory reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, taxation compliance, government reporting (including Standing Directions), and facilitation of the annual budget process.About The Role The Director, Financial Partnering is one of a team of executives supporting the CFO in discharging these critical responsibilities. Leading a large multi‐disciplinary team of finance professionals within a centralised service model, the Director Financial Partnering is responsible for leading, managing and delivering on the business partnership with all departmental Groups based across financial activities. The Director is also responsible for the management and continuous improvement of the practice model that underpins the business partnership approach to deliver consistent support to the business. The role is critical in providing strategic advisory support across finance matters.Some Of Your Duties Will IncludeLead and manage the finance business partnership teams through the integration of services and advisory support to all Deputy Secretaries and Group executives.Lead the management and improvement of the finance practice model through continuous improvement and a focus on exercising professional judgement as part of the advisory support.Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all departmental Groups including the Deputy Secretaries and relevant Group executives to deliver an effective, client centric model of business partnership and strategic advisory services.About YouHighly developed knowledge and experience in the preparation, delivery and management of annual financial statements across large public sector bodies or organisations.Demonstrated experience effective relationship management, business partnering and other client services experience.Demonstrated experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams within a financial and procurement context.Qualifications / RequirementsA relevant tertiary qualification is desirable.Important Information CHILD SAFE STATEMENT OF COMMITMENT: The Department of Justice and Community Safety is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
