A well-established, independent full-service agency with a strong national reputation is looking for a Group Account Director to step into a key leadership role within its Newcastle team.
This is a senior client leadership position, partnering closely with local agency leadership to drive strategic direction, campaign excellence and commercial growth across a portfolio of high-value clients.
You'll sit at the intersection of strategy, creativity and delivery, leading major accounts while mentoring a small but growing client service team.
The Role
This role is both strategic and hands-on — perfect for someone who loves shaping big-picture thinking but is equally comfortable ensuring campaigns are delivered seamlessly.
This is a full-time permanent position based in Newcastle with the option of a 9-day fortnight offering $140,000-$150,000 + super.
You will:
* Lead a portfolio of key clients, acting as a senior strategic advisor
* Partner closely with agency leadership in Newcastle to drive account growth and long-term client relationships
* Oversee the end-to-end delivery of integrated campaigns across brand, creative, digital and media
* Ensure projects are delivered on brief, on time and on budget
* Manage and mentor a small client service team (2 direct reports)
* Identify commercial growth opportunities within existing accounts
* Act as a senior voice in shaping the direction and standards of the Newcastle team
* Travel occasionally to Sydney to collaborate with broader agency teams and clients
What You'll Bring
* Proven experience in a senior client service role within a creative, marketing or advertising agency
* Strong background delivering multi-channel campaigns
* Experience managing and mentoring junior team members
* Commercial acumen — confident with scopes, budgets and growth conversations
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
