The Victorian National Parks Association (VNPA) is one of Victoria's most effective conservation groups. Established in 1952 to promote national parks, it has grown into a strong and respected advocate for nature conservation in Victoria and has played a leading role in the development of Victoria's nature reserve system and conservation policy.
The VNPA is an independent, non-profit, non-government, membership organisation. VNPA educates the community and advocates for the protection of Victoria's special natural areas, flora and fauna, and for the proper management of National Parks and protected areas.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead fundraising for one of Victoria's most respected environmental organisations. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Fundraising Manager will lead a small, dedicated team and drive the implementation of VNPA's Fundraising and Supporter Development Strategy.
You'll oversee programs that generate much of VNPA's income, including major gifts, regular giving, appeals, gifts in Wills, grants, and membership. This hands‑on leadership role combines strategic planning with operational delivery, ensuring VNPA meets annual income targets to support vital conservation work.
In this diverse role, you will:
* Lead and inspire a small team of fundraising professionals
* Develop and implement strategies for donor acquisition, retention, and stewardship
* Manage relationships with major donors, trusts, foundations, and sponsors
* Oversee fundraising campaigns, events, and digital engagement
* Collaborate across the organisation to integrate fundraising into VNPA's communications and advocacy
About YOU
* Proven success in developing and implementing fundraising programs across multiple channels combining a strategic and hands‑on approach
* Experience cultivating and stewarding major gift donors and philanthropic partners
* Strong leadership skills and ability to manage staff and volunteers
* Solid budget management and database expertise (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics)
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* A proactive, collaborative, detail‑oriented approach
* Empathy with environmental issues and VNPA's statement of purpose
* Degree or equivalent experience in a related discipline; FIA membership or knowledge of FIA standards highly regarded
* A current Driver License is desirable
