Kitchen Hand (Level 1 or 2 – Pass / Food Service)

The Charleston Hotel is a family owned pub located in the beautiful Adelaide Hills and we recently celebrated turning 170! We are the little pub with a big heart that is at the centre of our community and is well known for our casual and relaxing atmosphere. With fabulous food choices and cosy fireplaces, our historic charm and relaxed vibe keep patrons coming back again and again.
The Role
Approx. 15–20 hours per week | Must be available some nights & weekends
We are seeking an organised and reliable Level 1 or Level 2 Kitchen Hand to support our kitchen operations, with responsibility for coordinating meals at the pass and directing food to tables accurately and efficiently.
This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced service environment and enjoys being the link between the kitchen and front-of-house team.
Duties Include:
* Assist with food preparation
* Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, equipment and utensils
* Wash dishes and operate commercial dishwashing equipment
* Assist with stock handling and deliveries
* Follow food safety and hygiene procedures
* Check dockets and ensure orders are complete and correct
* Direct meals to tables according to table numbers and service flow
* Communicate clearly with chefs and front-of-house staff
* Maintain quality control and presentation standards
What We're Looking For
* Previous hospitality or kitchen experience essential
* Strong organisation and attention to detail
* Clear communication skills
* Team-focused with a positive attitude
* Available to work some nights and weekends
